Hace un par de años, en agosto, Public Image Ltd. vino a la Ciudad de México para ofrecer un concierto en El Plaza Condesa, siendo esta la primera vez que la banda llegara a nuestro país. El recibimiento fue tan bueno, que ahora la agrupación liderada por John Lydon, ex miembro de los Sex Pistols, regresará a la CDMX para ofrecer un concierto en el Pepsi Center el 6 de noviembre.

Hasta el momento no se saben los precios de los boletos, lo que sí, es que el el motivo de su visita es para celebrar los 40 años de trayectoria, que viene de la mano con el estreno del documental The Public Image is Rotten, en el cual se relata la formación de esta banda después de la ruptura de los Sex Pistols. Allí también hay testimonios de Thurston Moore de Sonic Youth, Adam Horovitz de los Beach Boys, Flea de los Red Hot Chili Peppers y de los integrantes mismos.

Asimismo con motivo de su 40 aniversario, Public Image Ltd. lanzará un box set conformado por una colección de siete discos titulados The Public Image is Rotten (Songs From the Heart), en la cual reúne singles, b-sides, rarezas, mezclas en formato de 12 pulgadas, material inédito y sets en vivo tanto en CD como en DVD. Éste estará disponible a partir del 20 de julio a través de Amazon.com y además de estar en formato de cinco CD y dos DVD, tendrá una versión de vinilo y digital; también se incluirá  un libro de 72 páginas, un póster y calcomanías.
