Quentin Tarantino sabía que quería “Stuck in the Middle With You” de los Stealers Wheel para una escena particular de Reservoir Dogs, su ópera prima de 1992. Lo malo es sólo tenía 13 mil dólares de presupuesto para comprar la licencia de películas.
Así que marcó a EMI, se comunicó con los respectivos de la empresa, y les platicó que quería esa rola sí o sí para su película. “¿Cuánto tienes?“, le preguntaron. “13 mil dólares“, respondió el director. Y con ese dinero compró una sola canción que se volvió un hit en los 90 a partir del estreno de Reservoir Dogs y la escena de tortura protagonizada por el señor Rubio y un policía rehén al que le corta una oreja…
